Role to access Azure Synapse Link

Hello,

I am trying to access the "Azure Synapse Link" page within the CosmosDB, but the page doesn't open.

What role permission are required in order to access and open the "Azure Synapse Link".

With the "CosmosDB Account Reader Role" this is not possible.

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Granular Role-based Access (RBAC)s isn't supported when querying from Synapse. Users that have access to your Synapse workspace and have access to the Azure Cosmos DB account can access all containers within that account. We currently don't support more granular access to the containers.

thanks for the reply, but that doesn't answers my question.

I am able to see all containers in the CosmosDB, but with my current role "CosmosDB Account Reader Role" I am not able to access the "Azure Synapse Link" in the CosmosDB Azure Portal page.

Additional, I don't see the created "Linked Connection" (created by another user with more permissions) in the Synapse Workspace.

Therefore, I need to know which role I would need for the CosmosDB in order to access the link in the Portal.

Hi,

I have "Synapse Administrator".

More important are the required permission in CosmosDB, so that I can open the "Azure Synapse Link" page in the portal.
