Changing the Tier of Blob Container in Azure Website

My question is more a question about the user interface for Azure storage in the Azure website.

I have uploaded a directory hierarchy into a blob container. Then I tried to change the access tier to the archive tier from the Azure web interface. I couldn't find any possibility to do that for all blobs in a blob container by changing the tier to archive on the top-level container. From the web interface I would have to go to each individual blob for changing the tier.

In the Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer I can find the operation to change the tier by right-clicking on the blob container.

Is it true that it is not possible to change the tier for all blobs in a hierarchical blob container in one operation from the Azure website? If not, how can it be done?

@Stephan Mühlstrasser Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A. I understand that you want to change the tier for all blobs in a container in one operation from the Azure website. This is not possible from the portal at the moment and has to be done one by one.

If you want to do this as a bulk operation, I would suggest that you use a script that can do it for you. Here is a link that has an example for the same- https://xenit.se/blog/2017/12/21/azure-archive-storage-manage-access-tier-blobs-container/

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions and we will be glad to assist you further. Thank you!
