Using virtual appointments to implement video calls with .Net MAUI

I found out that it is possible to make video calls with virtual appointments (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/communication-services/tutorials/virtual-visits).
I wonder if there is any package and samples to use it on a mobile app for iOS and Android with .Net MAUI.

+azure-communication-services since this is primarily an ACS question.

From a quick look at the available ACS modules, most are available to .Net Standard and should run in MAUI, but some are platform specific. I'm not familiar enough with ACS to know which modules are needed for the desired scenario.

Yes, that they are platform-specific makes it a problem for me, as I am not an expert in iOS and Android specifics. I hoped somebody might have built something that would handle it.

I understand the frustration - Azure Communication Services is powerful but requires significant platform-specific knowledge to implement in MAUI (creating bindings, managing native dependencies, etc.).

For developers not comfortable with iOS/Android specifics, you have a few options:

Option 1: Follow Microsoft's ACS Sample (Complex but works)

Pros: Official Microsoft solution, integrates with Teams

Cons: Requires binding creation, GitBash scripts, platform-specific code

Best for: Teams that have native mobile developers

Option 2: Use MAUI-Native WebRTC SDKs (Simpler path)

Some providers built SDKs specifically for MAUI that don't require binding work

Pros: Install via NuGet, works like any other MAUI package

Cons: Not Microsoft-owned, different ecosystem

Best for: Teams wanting simple integration without native expertise

Option 3: Web-Based Approach

Embed WebRTC in WebView using JavaScript

Pros: No native code needed

Cons: Limited performance, UI constraints

If you're early in evaluation:

I'd recommend trying the Azure sample repo first. If the binding complexity is too much, explore Option 2. Avoid Option 3 unless it's for prototyping.
