I am trying to install WSL distro on my laptop. It is new with windows 11. But I am constantly getting the following error:
"A connection with the server could not be established"
Even when I tried to clone a git repository, I got the same error.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Edit: I am doing wsl --list --online

Tryna install wsl by wsl -- install command in powershell in my windows 11 pc and same's happening with me too. As i read below you figured out the issue can you please share what did you do to resolve it!

i suggest trying after turing the "vitural machine platform" and "windows subsystem for linux feature"
You can find these features in TURN WINDOWS FEATURES ON OR OFF which is present in control pannel under PROGRAMS
you may have to restart your pc couple of times

In my case as @Omji Kushwaha mentioned, service provider was JIO and i do not wanted to switch the ISP, hence just connected to my corporate VPN, its worked absolutely fine.

Change your ipv4 and ipv6 addresses to Google DNS and it will work even on Jio

My service provider was JIO, changing the ipv4 and ipv6 addresses to Google DNS worked for me. You can search on youtube for tutorial.

Change service provider or Use a vpn if you are using jio. I'm using atlas vpn which is free you can use any vpn of your choice.
