Hello,

What would be the recommended way to synchronize employeeType attribute from Active Directory to Azure AD? We currently have Azure AD Connect configured and it looks like employeeType is not one of the attributes that is being synchronized.

Thank you in advanced.

Regards,

Tatyana

    Thank you @Andy David - MVP ,

Would you know, in step 5, do I need to add all the fields we are currently synchronizing in addition to employeeType or just employeeType?

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/app-provisioning/user-provisioning-sync-attributes-for-mapping#create-an-extension-attribute-using-azure-ad-connect

    Thank you in advance.

    Tatyana

    Hello,

I have sync attribute employeeType to AzureAD with azure ad connect.

but In azureAD GUI i don't see employee Type displayed.

There is a way to display employee type even on azure AD GUI users? Or this attribute can be used and mapped only with enterprise applications?

Hi @Murilo Mendes da Silva and @Roberto Loria steps

    1. extend attributes from AAD connect . ref: article below:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/app-provisioning/user-provisioning-sync-attributes-for-mapping#create-an-extension-attribute-using-azure-ad-connect

    1. You will see a Rule created in AAD rule editor. Which will say something like : Out to AAD Directory Extension ( lets say it is rule - A)
    2. Create an Outbound rule in AAD rule editor. ref: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/hybrid/how-to-connect-sync-change-the-configuration#step-5-create-an-outbound-synchronization-rule-to-flow-the-attribute-value-to-azure-ad
    3. Map the Target to Employee Type. and click on Add ( rule- B)

5.Disable the rule which was created ( rule - A)
