teams privet (free) and O365 on the same email adress

Hello

I have such an unusual question about teams and the use of o365 in general

a few months ago I took over a company in which all employees had private (free) teams accounts registered for company emails example

nowak@abc.com

recently, the company has decided to migrate all services to the o365 platform ( teams / exchange / office ) so I created a whole company abc.com onmicrosoft and set up the accounts

at the moment I am in the process of transferring accounts and domain to MS and I thought that when I set up company accounts, the "private" ones will be automatically deleted or merged with the new company ones, but the final effect surprised me greatly, because I have two teams account to every employer with the same e-mail, can someone tell me how this will work after full merge ( I see that chats are not showing in full version )

please suggest how to solve this ... for me it would be possible to delete these "private" accounts (we will not use them). Still, I have read that the deletion of accounts is not possible ... so will they not interfere with each other?? what are good practices in this matter?? and most important, if someone tries to chat with employees from outside of the company which account will receive it??

    Hi Lukasz,

    To me this setting (using same email address for personal account and business account) may cause trouble.

    Please refer to Cause 2 and Resolution 2 in this link: "Someone has already set up Teams for your organization" error in Microsoft Teams

    See if you can change the email address of the personal account.

    And since this issue is more an account issue than a Teams usage issue, please consider contacting support via Microsoft 365 admin center>Support>New service request for better support.
