Excel macros not working with the two recipients, all three users sharing utilizing OneDrive and Microsoft 365…
I share several Excel files with two other individuals through OneDrive utilizing Office 365. Myself and the other two individuals use OneDrive and Office 365. All the macros, in all the many files, work on my machine (the file “owners” machine). However, the other two individuals have a pink security risk message that "Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of this file is untrusted." Please note:
- I’ve tried working this out with Microsoft Support, case #1048860298, once the technician exhausted all his recommendations, he then recommended I try this forum.
- I've also posted this thread within the Microsoft Community.
- Both of the other users are viewing the file within the Excel desktop application, not through a browser.
- All our Trust Center settings match.
- Files without macros work fine…Excel, Word, etc.
- Both Excel files with and without macros still sync in real time. Any of the users can type and the others can see the typing immediately.
- Trust center settings > Trusted Locations (The main folder has been added, including subfolders and the box for allow trusted locations on my network is checked.)
- Trust center settings > Trusted Documents (The box is checked to allow documents on a network to be trusted.)
- Trust center settings > Macro Settings (Enable VBA macros is selected, Enable Excel 4.0 macros is selected.)
- Trust center settings > Protected view (All items are unchecked)
- Trust center settings > Privacy Options (Remove personal information from file properties on save is unchecked.
- When viewing the files in File Explorer, none of the files shared in OneDrive have the parameter within their “Properties” to unblock the security. (I believe the lack of this attribute is a characteristic of OneDrive.)
Could this be an issue with Microsoft 365 needing to business not family?
Any other ideas as to what may fix this?
