Unable to see and export telemetry data on Azure IoT Central

I am working with Kerlink Gateway which receives data from temperature and conductivity sensors, and send data to Azure IoT central. The connection is succesful and raw data is received as shown in the fist image attached to this message, I've generated the templates from the messages to process the data (second image), however, it isn't working and I can't get values to be displayed on dashboard tiles (third image), although it seems hat the measures are identified correctly by the template (fouth image).

I've checked the names and data types, testing them as integer or long, but the result is the same. I hope you can point out the mistake and help me to resolve this issue.

Hi @Giovanny Andres Piedrahita Solorzano greetings! Apologies for the delayed update on this issue. I am testing to replicate a similar behavior locally and I have few questions on the approach you have. I appreciate it if you can clarify them for me.

I've generated the templates from the messages to process the data

When you say the above statement, does it mean the that the Device is created on the IoT Central App without a Device Template attached to it? I appreciate it if you can share more details on how the device is provisioned on IoT Central end.

May I also ask the reason why you are looking at building custom templates? I would recommend reviewing the tutorial Define a new IoT gateway device type in your Azure IoT Central application which shows you how to use a gateway device template to define a gateway device in your IoT Central application. You then configure several downstream devices that connect to your IoT Central application through the gateway device. Do you not find an existing template that suits your sensor telemetry?

If the above approach does not work for you, there is also another option which lets you auto generate a device template from a connected device that's not yet assigned to a device template. Please review the option Autogenerate a device template and see if that helps with generating data in dashboards. Kindly note that this preview feature can't use telemetry and properties from components. It can only generate capabilities from root telemetry and properties.

Thank you for your reply, regarding the statement about the templates, I've generated the templates by both methods: Once I receive a data stream, I choose the autogenerate template option, and also, I followed the instructions to create a gateway with downstream devices, and the result is the same: I can see raw data, it's correctly interpreted by the template, but no updates on the dashboards.

I programmed and arduino device to send data using the same data structure, and I got to display data on dasboards. The only difference I can see is that the arduino sends a "device connected" message before start sending telemetry messages, while the gateway only sends telemetry messages. Does the "device connected" meggase triggers the data processing on azure?

Could you let us provide some additional information on the first approach mentioned. I have followed this tutorial Define a new IoT gateway device type in your Azure IoT Central application and provisioned a couple of simulated devices. My observation is that I could see the data plotted in the downstream devices. I could not find a way to push the data from Downstream devices and display them on dash boards in the gateway. Could you please confirm if you notice a similar behavior when you used this approach?

I appreciate it if you can share some details on how you pushed the telemetry data from either the gate way or Arduino device when using the second approach of auto generating device template.

I believe this is just an acknowledgement we are catching on the Arduino device. It jsut confirms that the device is connected to IoT Central. Since we are already receiving the data to IoT Central in your case, we can be assured that the device is connected.

May I ask if the format of the telemetry data being shared from Arduino device is any different from what is being delivered from the gateway. For example, I see that all telemetry data properties are clubbed in a single payload when you send it through the gateway. Is this the same case with Arduino?
