Error "Credentials Supplied Are Not Sufficient" when mapping to a shared printer hosted on Windows 10 from Windows 11 Client

Hello,

I have a shared USB printer running on a Windows 10 Home machine. I have this printer successfully mapped and working on other Windows 10 clients. However, when I attempt to map the printer to my Windows 11 Home machine, I get the following error:

"The credentials supplied are not sufficient to access this printer" - Same credentials that are working fine from the windows 10 machines.

This seems to be an issue with connecting from the windows 11 client machine, as the connection and credentials work absolutely fine from other windows 10 machines on the same home network.

I've searched for an answer to this for many hours, hoping that someone here can help, thanks!!

    Hi Steve,

    Did you get this working?

There are a couple ways to dump Windows point and print if you would rather go that route.

    1.      On computer with printer attached (Computer 1), in Settings select Accounts.  2.     In Accounts, scroll down to Account settings and choose Other users. 3.     Under Other users, click on Add account. 4.    A window will pop up with the question How will this person sign in? 5.     Click on I don’t have this person’s sign-in information. 6.    A new window will pop up with the heading Create account. 7.     Click on Add a user without a Microsoft account. 8.    A new window will pop up with the heading Create a user for this PC. 9.    Enter a user name and create a password.  The user name does not need to be an email address.  This created a user account on Computer 1. 10.   On network computer (Computer 2), open File Explorer.  Click on Computer 1.  The first time, a window opens asking for Credentials.  The Credentials are the user name and password created on Computer 1.  Save the Credentials. This worked on Windows 11 Home.
