Hi team,

Previously we haven't the flexibility to add a new .onmicrosoft.com different then the one created initially.

Now i can see we have the option to use a new one as a fallback domain, however we won;t be able to remove and delete the initial default domain.

can anyone advise if it can't be deleted then what would be the benefit of having 2 .onmicrosoft.com?

thank you

Multiple .onmicrosoft.com domains are currently only supported by the SPO tenant rename feature, which has a very long list of limitations/known issues. That, combined with the fact that no other workloads support this, explains why you cannot remove the initial domain. It's not a "fallback" option, it's something that the service still relies on.

    Hi @eg1995 ,

When you sign up for Microsoft 365, Microsoft provides an onmicrosoft.com domain - your fallback domain - in case you don't own a domain, or don't want to connect it to Microsoft 365 (for example, tailspintoys.onmicrosoft.com).
