The efficiency mode is turned off in Edge yet in task manager I see that edge is getting power throttled! How do I stop windows 11 from doing this?

Yep, and it is annoying as annoying can be. Edge when switching tabs, even on a super high end system, will take its merry time when it's been sitting idle for very long. 64Gb of DDR5, I don't need it to be efficient, I need it to work with the 40 tabs I have open. Not hang like a piece of trash.

Does that mean that we are defenceless against W11 to just randomly make our Microsoft Edge Experience garbage even when our computer can handle it?
Does that mean that we should start using another web browser or another operative system?

For those who are still looking for an answer to this mystery and misery!
Of course, first, Check if Edge settings have efficiency mode turned on, and check your system performance plan as well.
If these are not what you are looking for, and you're specifically looking to turn-off the efficiency mode in the taskbar, and you don't want to do it manually for each new tab, the solution steps are the following.
Edit the properties of Edge icon, and append the following to the target parameters --disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess
Save, and restart Edge.
From now on, Edge will not automatically apply efficiency mode on new tabs.
