Hi @Stephen Clark ,
Thanks for your feedback above which shared more information and glad to know that your issue is resolved now! Since our forum has the policy that the question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others, and according to the scenario introduced here: Answering your own questions on Microsoft Q&A. I would make a brief summary of this post so that other forum members could easily find useful information here:
[Activating lagged copies - Summary]
Issue Symptom:
After rebranding organization, the users' new email address doesn't update in Outlook and OneDrive.
Solution:
It might take several hours for this change to take effect. After the change has taken effect, the person will have to rebuild Outlook, OneDrive with their updated username.
Reference:
Outlook profile will not change automatically to reflect the new (Suffix/prefix) UPN with the new domain email. You need to create a new Outlook profile to reflect the changes.
A user's OneDrive URL is based on their UPN, after you change a UPN, any saved links to the user's OneDrive (such as desktop shortcuts or browser favorites) will no longer work and will need to be updated.
