I enable this. It worked.
Partial blue or gray screen in Teams?
One user started getting either a gray or blue partial screen in MS Teams which I haven’t seen happen to anyone before.
I tried clearing the “%appdata%\roaming\microsoft\teams” folder to delete the cache but that didn’t work. Then, I did a full uninstall and re-install after deleting all Teams folders in %appdata% both roaming and local. Did not work either. Disabled hardware acceleration and still no luck.
Her Teams version is the newest version (1.6.00.4472) and she’s on Win 10 22h2.
Anyone else see this before?

2023-03-15T13:04:32.4566667+00:00 I had this exact same issue. However, it only gave me the blue/gray screen when I double clicked on the file. If I simply single clicked it wouldn't give me any issues. My IT department let me know it must be a bug within Teams. Unfortunately, I think it's something only Microsoft can fix.

2023-03-15T13:23:18.2066667+00:00 You can solve the blue screen by closing the app in the taskbar menue and not dubble click on file in teams. Another workaround is to choose the option to open all files in the designated app (e.g Excel)

2023-03-16T14:38:36.89+00:00 We have been seeing this pop up on some computers in our office as well. The single click method seems to be the best for now. We have also noticed that if you are in a Team on the Files page, if you click the drop down arrow next to "Files" that seems to get rid of the blue screen. If you open a file with the blue screen up then it typically switches from blue to a light gray.

2023-03-16T19:38:57.37+00:00 I've noticed those who has this problem in our organization are double-clicking on the filename directly, where the filname is like an hyperlink. If you double-click on the same row in the right side on the screen the file open correctly, no blue screen.

2023-03-21T21:06:50.9233333+00:00 I have this problem with two users. Everybody who has the ability to do so, report the issue to Microsoft. I did, and they basically brushed me off because they didn't see anything wrong and nobody else has been reporting this.
Report this in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center\Health\Service Health

2023-03-23T19:16:27.9166667+00:00 Same issue - Workaround I found was to click into the search bar at the top of the Teams window. This changes the screen from blue/grey back to normal. Then just click anywhere in the screen below where the files are displayed. You can then select files without any issue.

2023-03-27T14:01:07.55+00:00 As I read the answers they all seem to think that this is a one time thing. I have seen it on multiple machines You can close it by certain clicks. But it always comes back. that is more the question is there a permanent fix. Its not about how you open the files because after three weeks and multiple people. The designated app doesnt work in a long term especially since all the did in Team was select file. that listed all the different files all different extensions. Has anyone seen a fix that is less generic and more specific to the actual issue

2023-04-28T15:52:51.8633333+00:00 Yes, I have had this happen a few times. Very annoying. However, the fixes here are good and I'm glad I found them. The one that worked for me was to not double click on the file link and / or to click the dropdown menu for FILES. Thanks to all who figured out the fixes!
