SSISDB to Azure SQL Managed Instance - moving it

Fellow SQL dbas,

I know that SSIS does not function the same way on SQL MI setup like it does with on-premise - use Azure Data factory for SQL MI.

We are migrating to azure. We have SSISDB on one of our on-premise SQL 2016 instances. I would like to know if that can be moved a Azure SQL MI. Thus the application team needs their packages in SSISDB. The SSIS intergartion service will be on an Azure VM. Will the SSIS functionality still be able to pull from the SSISDB from Azure Sql MI?

Is there an issue doing this?

If it is unrealistic, we can keep it on am azure vm like it is today on-premise

Thx

MG
