Hi, we are developing a .Net application that needs to use the webcam on an android tablet. Using the Client Remote Desktop application we run the .Net application, it is able to access the webcam but we only have a 480x640 resolution available while commonly using the camera the resolutions are much higher. We would also need to have these resolutions available in order to take high-quality photos. If we use the same configuration on an Apple tablet everything works fine. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem? Could the problem be caused by the Remote Desktop Client for Android application? Are there any future updates planned?

Thank you.

    Hello there,

You need the group policy settings if you have clients that need RemoteFX capability. Refer to this link: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/security-compliance-identity/introducing-microsoft-remotefx-usb-redirection-part-1/ba-p/247035

The following GPOs need to be applied on a client PC: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Connection Client > RemoteFX USB Device Redirection - set "Allow RDP redirection of other supported RemoteFX USB devices from this computer" option to Enabled. Please ensure that the RemoteFX USB Redirection Access Rights are set to "Administrators and Users" for this GPO.
