I'm running into dependencies that require ar least Redis 6.2 support since there are a bunch of missing commands in Redis 6.0.2 version, such as GEOSEARCH, GEOSEARCHSTORE, ZUNION, ZUNION, SMISMEMBER, ZMSCORE, LMOVE, XAUTOCLAIM etc.
Redis 6.0.2 was released on March 9, 2021.
Redis 7 was released on April 27, 2022.
Today is March 20 2023, but in Azure only Redis v6.0.2 is available.

For Redis cache version 7.x enterprise we are targeting this summer and we are planning on supporting redis version 7.x for other tiers, but we do not have a timeline we can hare yet.
It will be updated in the redis cache ms documentation once available.

Hi, is there any update regarding the provisioning of Redis version 7.x in Azure?
Because were are using the latest version from Azure (which is 6.0.14) and it was identified within an security review in our company, that the version is out of date.

Redis 7 will be available in Enterprise tier caches soon, but we don't have a timeline yet for Basic/Standard/Premium tier.
What Redis 7 functionality do you want to use?

Hi Oury, it is not about functionality. We just need an up2date version of Redis Cache in Azure because of security/compliance reasons.
Like you can see on https://docs.redis.com/latest/rs/installing-upgrading/product-lifecycle/ the current Redis version which is available in Azure (version 6.0) is marked as "end of life" by May 31, 2022

Hi, I'm looking to use newest version of Sidekiq 7 (popular background processor for RubyOnRails) and it requires version at least Redis 6.2+ https://github.com/sidekiq/sidekiq/blob/main/docs/7.0-Upgrade.md
Currently, only 6.0 is available which is a no-go for this upgrade.
Is there a possibility to upgrade at least to Redis 6.2 if 7.0 is not yet available?

Using sidekiq with enterprise cluster isnt possible. Is there a way to run redis enterprise in single node / sentinel mode?
Yes, you can run Redis Enterprise in non-clustered mode, also known as standalone mode or sentinel mode. To do this, you need to set the "Clustering policy" to "Enterprise" during the cache creation process. This will allow you to access your cache using the regular Redis API.

How is it going? Any updates? Beginning year means January or June? There's many of us that have problem with compatibility due to 6.0 version rather than 6.2.
We have 7.2 coming for Azure Cache for Redis Enterprise in a couple of months.
Preview is planned in January.
For basic/standard/premium not in our road map yet.
