Hello,
We actually use Standard Front Door and use custom domain with Azure Managed certificate.
We plan to migrate to Front Door Premium.
With Terraform deployment, It seem it is not possible to deploy new custom certificate unattended, you must proceed to dns validation from the portal.
This is a big regression from the previous version for us.
Do we miss something ?

I understand that you are planning to migrate your Azure Front Door from Standard SKU to Premium SKU using Terraform. Could you please confirm if this is correct? Or you are using Classic Azure Front Door and want to upgrade to Standard/Premium?
Upgrading from Azure Front Door Standard to Premium tier is currently in PREVIEW.
The upgrade won't cause any downtime to your services or applications and this upgrade is supported with just a couple of clicks on Azure portal.

So, if you could share some more details on your requirement and what exactly you are you trying to achieve, we can discuss it further.

Hi GitaraniSharma, our Standard Front door is actually deployed with Terraform, so we need to recreate all with terraform also.
My issue was to validate the custom domain from terraform, i didn't success to validate the certificate unattended

Hello, when you create a custom domain with terraform the resource https://registry.terraform.io/providers/hashicorp/azurerm/latest/docs/data-sources/cdn_frontdoor_custom_domain provide an attribute validation_token
You can create a TXT record with the value of this attribute for frontdoor validation.
