Outlook 2021 on Windows 11 laptop will not connect to email provider.

I am trying to connect Outlook 2021 to my email provider using the POP server type. I have set up by opening the Outlook App, entering email address, clicking Advanced options and Let me set up account manually. I have then selected POP option and then entered the server and settings details for incoming and outgoing mail as provide by my email provider (KCOM in the UK). After entering my email password I get the following message: "We couldn't connect to the outgoing server. None of the authentication methods supported by Outlook are supported by your server." KCOM does not require any encryption or Secure Password Authentication on either server. A KCOM agent told me there are occasional connection failures but was not aware of a consistent problem with Outlook 2021 connecting. Note we have other laptops connected to this email provider using Outlook 2013 (Windows 8.1), and Mail (Windows 10) using this POP server. Have others had this problem and can anyone help me get connected?

    How did you add configure your account? Do you refer to this link? https://www.kcom.com/home/help/broadband/how-do-i-setup-my-email-on-outlook-2016-or-outlook-365/ (Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.     In addition, I suggest you contact your email provider to see if it is applicable to other versions of outlook clients.
