I'm having the same issue on 6th of November 2023. Trying to e-mail contacts I have previously sent e-mails thousands of times before. Really frustrating, indeed.

Remote server returned '550 5.7.520 Message blocked because it contains content identified as spam. AS(4810)' Today i have received an email returned as spam. This was from an addressee who I correspond mostly, being a family member and I was sending them an important document. Both of these are Microsoft accounts (Hotmail and Outlook), both accounts are listed under my family 365 account, both using Microsoft Outlook and no other system for sending and receiving emails. Can you tell me why this is the case and how I am able to stop this in the future?

2023-04-08T14:37:26.28+00:00 I had the same problem today (April 8), receiving two such messages for emails I had send on April 6. Both were not delivered to the respective recipients till today so the glitch must have started two days ago. The same problem has been posted elsewhere on this forum where the person shared the email message which showed that it was also initially send on April 6. Also, both my messages had nothing in there that may have looked like spam. Hope it will be addressed soon.

On a different computer my wife is having the same issue, outlook.com account, using Microsoft Office 365 Outlook app. The message is not spam. Must have been a MS change somewhere late Thursday, the 6th of April.

Issue started 2 days ago specifically Apr 6 6pm-11pm PST, unable to send outgoing emails from an iPad device. Incoming emails are OK. I sent a test email 2 days ago to my O365 Business email which was plaintext, no attachment and today Apr 8 at 1AM PST, I received the Postmaster@outlook.com Undeliverable email bounceback. Email was sent from the official Microsoft Outlook app. I sent a similar test email 2 days ago from my O365 Business account from the same MS Outlook app, and I received the message instantly. Interesting bit - while I was having this issue 2 days ago, hence I tried sending email from my laptop device through the internet browser Outlook.com, and that went through. Both devices were connected to the same home network. Another interesting bit, my O365 Business account tagged the received emails (which postmaster@outlook.com marked as undelivered, but were still sent through today - 2 days later) as coming from Unverified Sender - which is wrong because the email was sent from a legit source - me. My current findings indicate the that issue impacted O365 Family users, and potentially specific to Mobile devices. Can others share your experience?

The delivery time between these servers was 2545 minutes 36 seconds. A message that was returned as "undeliverable" was eventually delivered to the receiver.

None of the content was even remotely spam. I had no attachments. It happens when I send messages from my Windows 11 computer and from my iPhone so it isn't malware. I use Outlook mail. Is it possible that my email account has been blocked?

2023-04-08T18:30:03.4+00:00 As a follow up, it appears 3 out of 4 rejected sent emails actually went through. Based on response from recipients, they didn't show to recipients until sometime this morning although the time stamp retained the original sent/received date and time of thursday....strange (!). With all the responses to this post, this seems to be a pervasive problem that showed up in the last 2 or 3 days. Coincidentally I had installed Zoom plug-in on tuesday, which I disabled this morning. Not sure if that was related to my problem.

Is Microsoft now aware? Will these emails be delivered or will we have to manually resend all of the emails from the past 2-3 days???

I have set up my hotmail account in my router to send me daily reports. So a specific hotmail account sends the report to that very same account (both the sender and recipient are the same hotmail account) and yet i get the same '550 5.7.520 Message blocked because it contains content identified as spam. There were three "Undeliverable" notifications that went straight to my Spam folder. However, I do not recall, nor do I have record of sending any emails to the recipients in my screenshot.
I am a subscriber to MS 365 Personal....Malwarebytes premium is installed on my device with an active subscription. The Undeliverable notifications were sent on 4/8/23 but their corresponding emails are dated 4/6/23. Why did the bounce back take 2 days to receive? Undelverable notification.pdf

Emails bounce back with this 'blocked' message and they don't have any "spammy" content or attachments. Today I tried resending a message that had bounced without changing any of the text that I originally sent - I just changed from RTF (Rich Text) to Plain Text format and it was delivered. So try that as a workaround the next time it happens to you. I am using Outlook 2021 and it seems to be associated with that. Outlook 2021 is very buggy. Cheers, Gina

Try sending emails with your attachments zipping until the problem is resolved

My workaround is to compress all pdf files as zip and I can send the emails that way.

Yesterday was working just fine.I hope Microsoft fix this soon... it's causing me a lot of problems.
My workaround: Write your e-mail with attachments on Outlook Web, save draft.
Go to your smartphone and send through the Outlook Mobile app.

What the HELL is Microsoft doing about this!

We started to have the same issue today. It seems to be related to an Hotmail account trying to send an email to one of our Exchange 2019 server mailboxes. It does not even go in the account's "spam" folder. It is directly rejected.
Since we handle a mail server that mostly receives emails with attachments sent by our customers in order to be further processed, this is a priority concern for us. The email feature is a central part of our sotware solution and all of our customers rely on this feature. A lot of them use Outlook mailboxes to send their attachments.
We hope that Microsoft will quickly resolve this.

I know it's not the best solution, but if you have your email on your phone, once you send it from your desktop, you can go into your sent folder on your phone and forward it to your recipient from there and it will go through without being rejected. I have had to do that with every email today that has a PDF attached. Thank goodness business is slow today!

I have read through all comments. It seems like this problem only happens on the
web client
(outlook.com in browser and "New Outlook App", which is essentially an outlook.com PWA).I have personally tried using the Outlook app on my Android phone. It works without any issue.
And as
ALAN
stated on 22:19 6/11/2023 AEDT (GMT+11):If this helps anyone. You can send emails with attachments. But only through the Mail desktop app "switched to old outlook" it will not send if switched to new app. Hopefully Microsoft will have this issue sorted soon!
The old Outlook app (a real app) on PC is unaffected as well.
Temporary Solution
So, so far if anyone is affected by this issue, try using the mobile app or the classic UWP outlook app instead. And please share your experience below if possible. (I have not yet tested the Outlook app bundled with Office, which in theory should also work)
Hopefully it helps with anyone who is experiencing the issue.
Original Answer
Same things happening today. I'm in Australia. I've conducted some tests. As long as the email contains any attachment, it cannot be sent through.
From To Result Outlook to Outlook Rejected by "recipient's email provider" Outlook to Gmail Rejected by "recipient's email provider" Gmail to Outlook Success Gmail to Gmail Success Considering the result above, I would highly doubt the emails were "rejected by recipient's email provider". I would rather believe they did not pass the Outlook's spam check before sending out.

It’s offensive! How am I to message my clients or send them receipts if this keeps happening?!! I’m seriously considering deleting my account with outlook and Hotmail and just sticking to Gmail! 🤬
