I utilized the hide function on excel and the entire program completely disappeared. Upon trying to unhide it, it would not let me. Then it was not found in my files. What can I do?

Do you already try with: File tab, Info, Manage Workbook, Recover Unsaved Workbooks? Also look for the last unsaved file. Which version of Excel do you have?

    Hi @wagar ahmed,

How did you hide the Workbook?

Can you find the file in Windows?

If you can find the Workbook in Windows but it is grayed out when opening. I suggest you go to View tab- select Unhide option: User's image

If my understanding is incorrect, please provide more information about your question or you can upload a screenshot so that I can get more accurate solutions to this problem. I’m glad to help and follow up your reply.

    Hi,

If you have used the hide function in Excel and the entire program disappeared, there are a few things you can try to recover it:

    1. Use the "Unhide" function in Excel. If you accidentally hid a worksheet or workbook in Excel, you can use the "Unhide" function to make it visible again. To do this, right-click on any visible worksheet tab and select "Unhide". From there, you can select the worksheet or workbook that you want to unhide.
    2. Recover an unsaved workbook. If you were working on the workbook and hadn't saved it yet, Excel may have created a backup copy that you can recover. In Excel, go to the "File" tab, then select "Info". Look for the "Manage Workbook" section and select "Recover Unsaved Workbooks". From here, you can select the file you want to recover.
    3. As mentioned by Emi Zhang in this thread, you can also try unhiding it from the View Tab (i.e. if the file is still there and not deleted).

    Best Regards.
