Change organisation in Linux Teams client

I have changed organisation and when I launch the Teams Linux client, I am immediately taken to the old organisation's sign-in page with no option to change. I've tried deleting the cache and performing a clean install but the problem remains. Where are the organisation details being stored?

I have the same problem. I once used the desktop app with my old school-organization. Now since I changed school I can't log in with the organization from my new school.
Like @Hamza I tried to reinstall the desktop app but it doesn't change the view (see screenshot).

For me it is important to have the desktop app since I can't always use a web-browers in some lessons.

@Sharon Zhao-MSFT do you perhaps know where the organization-info is saved?

so if MS really enables 2x2 on Edge/Chrome on Linux, I can just drop the native client, since for my usage patterns the web-client will be equal to the native one, just without the bugs.

I just got Teams insiders 1.4.00.26453 on Ubuntu. It fixed this issue for me.
I do not see any other changes, for most features the teams-web-edition is still way superior.

I confirm that now it is working for me as well with version 1.4.00.13653 (64 bits).
Let's hope they really fixed it and it is not something temporal

I also confirm that the version 1.4.00.13653 (64 bits) is working fine installed on Fedora 34
It seems that Microsoft finally decides to fix the problem to Linux after few months, so we can now close the related post.

Hi,

Last week I've got OS updates on my system - I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Now issue is fixed for me, I can switch the organization on teams application installed on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS os.

Heyu,

So since I really needed the app, T tried some things and it works now.
This is what I did to fix it:

I first uninstalled teams by opening the .deb file (I did it with Ubuntu Software).

After that I deleted the whole teams-folder with all the informations. This was the path: ~/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft Teams/

If you deleted the folder "Microsoft Teams" install the app again with the .deb file

At this point I could log into my new school-organization.

I hope it was helpful.

What do you mean the old organization?

Does anyone else have the same issue?

I guess you are guests of other organizations and you want to choose one of the organizations to log in. You could try to sign in Teams in browser with InPrivate mode.

In general, it will take up some time to take effect.

@Sharon Zhao-MSFT I used to work at organisation A, but now I've moved to organisation B. Both use Microsoft Teams. When I launch the Linux Teams client, I am immediately taken to the Single Sign On page for organisation A (on their website). There is no option to go back to the Microsoft login page. I have tried reinstalling the client and this problem still persists, meaning that some configuration file is storing my previous association with organisation A.

I can access organisation B's Teams in my browser, but I need to be able to use the standalone client in order to take video calls.

If this issue persists all the time in desktop client, the following two browsers, which are fully supported for Teams experience including calling and meetings, can be a workaround:

Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based), the latest version plus two previous versions

Google Chrome, the latest version plus two previous versions

The proposed fix does not work in my case. I'm using the Linux App. When I try to change the organisation it starts loading, loads the new organisation, but then immediately reloads the original organisation. As said, deleting all the Teams folders and reinstalling the app does not help. The problem appears at two different machines. Any updates?

I have the same issue on Fedora 33 with the latest teams version installed provided by the official Microsoft repo.
It happens the last 2 days and i already have tested everything but no luck.
I also tried to ubuntu machine with the same results, the only working case is Microsoft windows app, nothing else.
I also tried the following commands to clear the cache from the system but the same results

rm -rf Application\ Cache/Cache/* ; rm -rf blob_storage/* ; rm -rf Cache/* # Main cache ; rm -rf Code\ Cache/js/* ; rm -rf databases/* ; rm -rf GPUCache/* ; rm -rf IndexedDB/* ; rm -rf Local\ Storage/*

It is very annoying and Microsoft should give us a solution asap.

We have reproduced this problem in Teams for Linux with version 1.4.00.7556(64-bit).The result is the same.

Hava's suggestion worked for me. I'm using Ubuntu 20.04. I'm not an expert, but here are some loose guesses:

Maybe order of operations matters? For example, maybe if the program is still installed when the /home/your_username/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft Teams folder is deleted, it's saved elsewhere in a backup location that repopulates on reinstall. Maybe uninstalling using the 'remove' option that appears after double clicking the debian file, and only deleting the Microsoft Teams folder after doing that is somehow important.

There might be some redundancies built in that didn't exist before. I found two folders in /home/my_username/.config. One folder was /home/my_username/.config/Microsoft Teams - Preview, and the other folder was /home/my_username/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft Teams. I deleted both of these folders, and that seemed to work (and may have been necessary somehow).

I have the same problem as moscham-4979.
Just to clarify, I do not have two separate accounts, I have one main account with my employers institution, but on different projects we collaborate with different companies that have used my same profile as a guest on their institutions. The switching between institutions using the same account stopped working.

If you sign out of the linux client and restart it, you can select some options before(!) entering your login-information. Select the other organisation befor singing in.
You will be able to switch between other organisations where you have guest access without any issues, but do not switch to your original organisation!

You might try to run both teams and teams-insider. Use one for your organisation and the other one for guest access.

I don't like it either...

Three months later I'm still having this exact issue with Teams on Linux. I cannot switch from my own organization to an organization where I'm guest. This is on Pop_OS! 21.04 with Teams from Flatpak.

Same issue here. In my case I used flatpak version of Microsoft Teams on Pop_Os 20.04. I tried to downgrade flatpak application to some earlier commits, but no luck. Suppose it's really happens on back-end side and have no effect on front-end. Web-application works fine and I can switch to another organisation where I guest. Hope you'll fix that annoying bug
