Hi there,

Basically, I'm so confused about the Windows' MDM system. I was trying to develop my own MDM solution based on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/mdm-overview. However, I've just found another link that seems to be saying about MDM as well, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/mdm/.

Based on just a short glimpse, I think they differ as Microsoft 365 MDM document and Microsoft Intune MDM document.

Which one is the right one for my need???? I'm going to control Windows devices distributed to students.

Anyone's help and clarification on this issue would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    • Lastly, based on the above answers, it'd be really appreciated if you could provide us a link to documentation to follow to develop our own Windows MDM solution.

when you say MDM most of all search engine goes to mobile device,

but endpoints refer to a computing device or device node that is connected to a network. It is a specific device or entry point within a network infrastructure where data is sent or received. Endpoints can include various devices such as desktop computers, laptops, servers, smartphones, tablets, IoT devices, and even virtual machines.

you need a link to documentations for MDM or is it better to use "Endpoints" the best and most comprehensive?

    Hi DJ Moon

Companies may put a lot of names for a lot of solutions, but I will talk to you from the reality of the actual work and the experiences I was exposed to, and of course you have the right to review what I write and make sure of it by searching the Internet.

From my point of view, MDM is the most comprehensive way to deal with mobile phones and tablets

Endpoint usually includes the rest of the devices, such as laptops, desktops, etc

Microsoft is good at dealing and managing its applications and Office 365 applications on all devices, but there are many features and advantages that are not present in dealing with applications from Third Party

So, for example, you will find a company like MangeEngine that offers you solutions for mobile devices, tablets, and other solutions for devices such as laptops and desktops.

for endpints you can customize the group policy and the user rights also you can configure windows to work as kiosk mode (Mutiple app not single app) and use any remote desktop support such as anydesk https://anydesk.com/en.
