Conditional Formatting in Outlook 2023

I cannot find conditional formatting in the new Outlook for 2023. I liked having the option of changing the format of incoming messages to a certain color or font based on the sender or where it was being emailed to. Does this feature not exist in the new Outlook anymore, or am I missing where to do that?

I'd agree. This was a most helpful feature. I see some new features which I like. This is a bit of a tricky one for me. i am not sure I will upgrade to the new just yet. I will try it but will really look forward to this one. Or if I could Auto Assign a charm that may work too. But color would be best.

I also hope this feature returns. It would also be helpful to change the color of a flagged email in dark mode. As it is, the flagged emails are barely distinguishable.

I'm sorry that brought you a bad experience, Conditional Formatting is currently not supported in New Outlook for Windows, and this work is in progress and will be available in the future.

The new Outlook is not yet complete and some options may not be available or work as expected, we recommend you stay in the classic Outlook until they are resolved, or you can switch the toggle to go between apps as often as you want.

Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future. Microsoft collected this feedback, and you can also vote via this Conditional formattting support

Why are these options randomly discarded? I wonder if they use Outlook at all. Typical design nonsense!

This is totally cross removing such kind of a feature in the course of an update.
I also noticed that when I change sorting (e.g. from Received to Subject), the focus on the list does not stay on the selected mail but goes to the top of the list.
That is another serious hit in usability. Handling busy Inboxes is does now take considerably more time than before the update.
MS rendered Outlook with this update from a tool for professionals to a toy for private and home use.

i look forward to the addition to the new with the color formatting of the incoming e-mails. It was a very useful tool for me. I know that i can go back to the classis e-mail format, but I like the new one.

Hi, is there an ETA for when conditional formatting will be updated by any chance? When you receive 1000 emails a week, not having this feature definitely has a huge impact.

I see the new Outlook being pushed at us before it is complete. Do not let the previous version be removed until you have these features fixed. They are not optional. They are essential to how many users interact with messages.

I had a similar question but regarding the Calendar event condiftional formatting (using keywords in the body of the invite to categorize/color events). Now all of my appointments are the same color, which makes it very hard to get a grip on the type of meetings that are upcoming without opening each event and reading what it's about.

Any update on this? The Feedback thing is from 10 months ago and is in "Reviewing" status. That's not very reassuring.

I too am missing Conditional Formatting as a important tool in Outlook. It is very difficult to quickly distinguish between read and unread messages in dark mode.

How about instead of creating new features, work on fixing the problem that has existed for decades with Outlook - fix the "do you want to save changes" pop-ups. This has been an annoyance for very, very long, and simply fixing this would be immensely well received by most of the millions of users.
