"New Outlook" - issues related to folders and other things - please help!

Hi,

I've just updated my work laptop to use the new Outlook and have a couple of issues - please could you advise how to work around them?

  • I have 100s of Outlook folders. I've created Favourites - however, when I scroll down the screen, the favourites panel does not remain locked-in place at the top of my folder list, but rather disappears off the top of the screen. It negates the point of having a "favourites" list. I'm going mad trying to work out how to fix this. Please help! (It worked fine in the previous Outlook version.)
  • Many of my Outlook folders/sub-folders have long names. Unfortunately, the vertical panel bar separating the folder list from the messages will not drag to the right beyond a certain distance, so I cannot see the full folder names. This also happens in the calendar view - preventing me from having more than one full month displayed at the top left of the screen. Again, please help - it is hugely frustrating and was not an issue in the previous version.
  • I am being forced to use a preview screen for emails which I do not really want. However, if I don't use it, then when I do a single left mouse click on an email (to highlight it), the bloody thing opens, even though I don't want it to - could you please tell me how I configure the function so that only a double click will open it?
  • Looking in my folders, I can see where I've saved emails I've sent to people previously (I've dragged them into these folders from sent items, for archiving). However, the columns at the top only list from, subject and received - they don't allow me to include "to" - how do I add this please, so that I can search easily to see who I sent specific emails to?

Many thanks! :o)

Jim

    Hi @Jim Reali ,

When you toggle into New Outlook for the first time, did you choose to import settings or skip? It is recommended you try migrating your classic Outlook for Windows settings again. Select Settings > View all Outlook settings.

Select Manage next to your account and choose Get Started.

The new Outlook is not yet complete, and some options may not be available or work as expected.

You can switch back to the classic Outlook at any time by clicking the toggle button in the top right corner of the window. To learn more about the New Outlook for Windows, check out the latest blog post.
