Hello,

What are the benefits from moving from free tier to pay-as-you-go?

Will I have more access to my information?

How do I obtain my information after I have upload to cloud services?

Does this increase the capacity?

Is there a phone number to call for representative or is it all automated?

Thanks,

HaloBNS

    Hi @HaloBNShllw 1

    Thanks for your question.

Moving from the free tier to pay-as-you-go service in Azure provides several benefits. While the free tier provides limited access to Azure services, pay-as-you-go service provides more features and capabilities. Here are some of the differences between the two:

    1. Access to more Azure services: With pay-as-you-go service, you get access to more Azure services than the free tier. For example, the free tier of Azure Cosmos DB provides only limited RU/s and storage, while the pay-as-you-go service provides unlimited storage and throughput (RU/s), SLAs, high availability, global distribution in all Azure regions, and more.
    2. Increased capacity: Pay-as-you-go service provides more capacity than the free tier.
    3. More control over resources: With pay-as-you-go service, you have more control over your resources. You can scale up or down your resources as per your requirements, and you only pay for what you use.
    4. Access to support: Pay-as-you-go service provides access to Azure support, which can help you resolve any issues you may encounter while using Azure services.

If you encounter with any issue and you need help from an expert, you can open a support case. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support

Microsoft Azure provides support through online channels such as chat, email, phone support or forums and documentation.

I hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Azure SQL free tier has a 32 MB limit of storage. The Azure Free Subscription account that comes with 12 months includes an Azure SQL Database using the DTU model in tier S0 only.

Azure Free subscription has a spending limit ($200 credit) and a limit in time (up to 12 months) to enjoy the subscription, when one of the limits is reached the subscription may be automatically changed to pay-as-you-go. The Azure free account includes certain types of specific services (and certain amounts of those services) for free only while with pay-as-you-go you have access to all services in the amount you need or request. For example you can get access to services on the Azure Marketplace only with pay-as-you-go and not with a free account. Example of other benefits that are not available with a Free Subscription are Azure Hybrid Benefit and Spot VMs

About getting access to your data once you have moved it to Azure, you can always backup your data and download the backup to your organization. There Azure services allow you to replicate your data on Azure to on-premises in case you are interested.

Please contact Azure Sales to get more details about the benefits of both types of subscriptions.
