How to pop-out email replies and forwards in Microsoft 365 - Outlook by default

I have MS Outlook Version 1.2023.607.100 and I cannot locate the Replies and Forwards section as in previous versions. I would like the option to select Open replies and forwards in a new window. On the new version, I was able to locate the Customize actions>Open in new Window but this feature only allows the email to open in a new window. Thank you.

I have the same question. I can't find a way to set messages to pop out as a default. The suggestions from @Faery Fu-MSFT below all work, but are manual. You used to be able to set it so that when you hit reply it would automatically pop the message out.

I have the same question. I have been trying for some time now to get all replies / forwards to open in an new window and I cannot find a way to do so.

Hopefully they find a way to do this soon.

YES! I want all emails that I am typing to pop out because otherwise they disappear into my Drafts folder and out of sight, out of mind! I am forgetting to send emails all the time becuase I cannot SEE that I am in the middle of an email. I need this feature back ASAP.

Hi @Ted Coffey ,

According to my test, if you're using the Reading pane to read your email, choose one of these options to open a message in its own window:

In the message list: Double-click an email message.

In the reading pane: Near the upper-right corner of the message pane, at the end of the action bar, select More actions > View > Open in new window.

The question is why it doesn't work in the same manner as the legacy version of Outlook?

It needs the same functionality to allow a double click to open the email in new window... not for that to be an additional action.

I love how support doesn't answer when MS doesn't have the functionality we all want. They always take away the best functionality - then wonder why we don't automatically switch over to Microsoft Edge... Beginning to hate Microsoft.

In Outlook. Go to Files Tab. select options. Select Mail. Go to "Replies and forwards" . check box "Open replies and forwards in a new window. "
