Visual Basic in my MS Word at work is gone. This started the day after my normal daily shutdown. I still have the Developer tab, with all the options. But when I start to create a macro, the system tells me I can't. All of my macro names are still there, but when I click Step Into, nothing happens. When I open VBA, there are no macro commands; it's just empty space. The Import selection is also grayed out. IT has reinstalled MS 365, but that didn't change anything. Any ideas on how to restore it?

If you press Alt + F11, will the VBA Editor shown up?

If you can see the VBA Editor, please check whether there is any macro running.

I would suggest you right-click Word, run as administrator to check this issue.

Also run Open Office apps in safe mode

Is this Word for Windows? In that case, have you tried an Office online repair?
