Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

It's very simple and seems you have got the right software to connect the azure vm from mac. I suspect you are unable to connect only due to network or firewall block. Also pls check if the VM is powered on and able to reach from your network and is whitelisted if you are trying to connect from a corp network.

Hi, unfortunately I am still getting the same error when connecting my VM from MAC. I have downloaded Microsoft Remote Desktop Version 10.8.0 (2032) on my MAC. I run the VM on Azure then download the RDP file try connect it from my Microsoft Remote Desktop but it still gives me error.

If you are still facing issue, I would recommend you to open a azure support case. Support team will be able to help on this.

If you don't have a support plan enabled on your subscription, I request you to send an email to AzCommunity@Microsoft.com with Subject as "Attn:Vikas" referencing this thread along with your subscription ID. I can then enable your subscription with a one-time free technical support.

Once the issue is resolved, request you to post the resolution here for the benefit of community.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

Adding to previous response of Vinod, make sure the Azure VM is ON.

And use this link (https://ping.eu/port-chk/) to check if the public IP of the Azure VM on RDP port is accessible from your Mac.

If the Public IP is not accessible then check your NSG to see if there is any rule that is blocking the connection. Add inbound rule and check again once.

Also, make sure there are no other NSG's that are impacting the subnet of the VM where this port is blocked.
