Does the SharePoint Online automatic news digest email get sent to guest users?

Question

If I set up a SharePoint site for company news, then grant guests users from another Microsoft 365 tenant to that site, will those guest users start receiving the automatic news digest email? Per my knowledge, if your guests are added to the sites and can view the news you have posted. They will be able to receive the automatic news digest email.

For your question, I feel regretful to inform you that there is no out-of-the-box setup to manage the recipients of automatic digest emails in SharePoint. The purpose of the automatic email feature is to quickly set up sending newsletters to all relevant users in the SharePoint site. This is designed by SharePoint.

Perhaps you could consider turning this feature off and sending digest emails manually.

After the feature is disabled, you can refer to this article to send automatic digest emails manually: How to create a Newsletter (News Digest Email) in SharePoint Online?

Manually sending digest emails can specify the recipients.
