Hello, I have installed a Microsoft Office 2021 Pro Plus version that I purchased a few days ago, and after an update from Microsoft, I no longer have the option to quickly correct an underlined word via the left click. The right click still works, but the left no longer. How can I reactivate this option? My PC is under Windows 10 and this issue happens on MS Word. Thank you.

    Hi There,

I'm sorry to hear that. You can try the following steps to reactivate the left-click spelling correction option:

    1. Open Word and click on "File" in the top left corner.
    2. Click on "Options" at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
    3. Click on "Proofing" in the left-hand menu.
    4. Scroll down to "When correcting spelling and grammar in Word" and make sure that "Use contextual spelling" and "Mark grammar errors as you type" are both checked.
    5. Click on "Settings" next to "Writing style".
    6. Make sure that "Grammar & more" is selected under "Writing style".
    7. Click on "OK" to save your changes.

If this doesn't work, you can try repairing your Office installation by following these steps:

    1. Open the Control Panel.
    2. Click on "Programs and Features".
    3. Find Microsoft Office 2021 Pro Plus in the list of installed programs and click on it.
    4. Click on "Change" at the top of the window.
    5. Select "Repair" and click on "Continue".
    6. Follow the prompts to complete the repair process.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi,

Did this problem only appear in Word? How about other Office products?

Did you get any message when left click?

I suggest you try to repair Office application:

Perpetual licenses such as Office 2021 do not offer full support for all features that are included in the Microsoft Editor.

I am running Office 2021 Professional Plus (under Windows 11) and I have never seen the left-click spelling suggestions, so you may have had temporary access to functionality that is really only intended for the subscription versions.
