Azure Function, JavaScript, Did not find any initialized language workers

Deployed JavaScript Azure function on a Linux based function. Received error when test run,

Did not find any initialized language workers.

Portal runtime version: ~4

Node.js version: 18

I understand that you are encountering the error Did not find any initialized language workers, while accessing the Nodejs function app.

Please note this issue a known issue reported recently. We have already involved the Product Group team internally.

The issue was caused by azure portal saving test data within the azure functions. Portal team made a fix. ETA for deployment of this fix to prod is 7/14th. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused due to this. We appreciate your patience on this.

@Dataholic Thanks for your reply. Until the fix is made available on the Azure Portal, you can use the workaround to invoke the FunctionAPP from the client side tools (like Postman / fiddler). I was able to access my FunctionAPP from the the client side tool ( postman).

See below the 200 status success code for my NodeJS Function App:

Following your instructions, I received 404 Not Found error.

What could be the reason?

@Dataholic Thanks for getting back. Could you please check and confirm the name of your FunctionApp ? Is it HTTPTrigger1 ?
The easiest way is to navigate to your function app in portal and get the Function URL as shown below and try to invoke that from Postman and check if that helps.

@navba-MSFT Thanks for you additional instructions. I did copy and pasted. I think the URL and function name should be right. Is it possible this function app is behind some firewall or private network, etc? How can I check?

@Dataholic Thanks for getting back. The firewall / VNET restrictions can be checked from the Settings --> Networking tab.

However, the 404 error isn't related to this. Since that would have resulted either in 401 / 403 error.

To troubleshoot the 404 error, You could check in the File System Logs as shown below.

Once you select that, you could try sending a few requests from the postman. The Logs (errors) would be streamed in the console and it should display the detailed error message in this console.

The network setup is pretty similar to yours. except two different

Private endpoints --- N/A

Vnet integration --- On

I turn on the file log. Tested from PostMan, LogicApp and function app itself. I didn't capture anything.

From LogicApp and function itself, I received 500 error. PostMan still the same error 404.

What could be I missed?

@Dataholic We have worked internally with our Product Owners and the portal team has deployed the fix. The issue should be fixed now. I am able to Test/Run the NodeJs Function App from the portal as well as from Postman.

@navba-MSFT Thanks a lot for following up! I still received 500 error when testing the function app directly from the portal.

also, I still recieve 404 error when testing the function from PostMan......
