How can I resolve an issue with the Microsoft Authenticator app not sending me a verification code to my mobile phone when trying to log into my college email through Outlook? The app prompts me to enter a code for verification, but I am not receiving the code on my device. What steps can I take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue?

    Hello @Zyla Slavik ,

Thank you for reaching out. You can check following details one by one to fix this issue:

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check if the Microsoft Authenticator app is up to date. You can update the app from the app store on your mobile device.
    2. In your iOS/Android device settings please make sure that battery optimization is turned off for Microsoft Authenticator App and it is allowed to run in background.
    3. Ensure that your mobile device is connected to the internet and has a stable network connection. The Microsoft Authenticator app requires an internet connection to send verification codes.
    4. Check if the app has the necessary permissions to send notifications. On your mobile device, go to Settings > Apps > Microsoft Authenticator > Permissions, and ensure that the app has permission to send notifications.
    5. If none of the above steps work, you can try using an alternative verification method, such as a phone call or text message, to verify your identity.

If the issue still persists, you can contact your college's IT support team for further assistance and to try and reset auth methods registered against your account.
