I have recently moved onto the new Outlook, which I use as a 365 client install, rather than through a web browser. Here are the version numbers:

You have Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.719.200 (Production).

Client Version is 20230714005.10 .

I have a number of different inboxes added.

I am no longer able to move emails between inboxes which I have been able to do in the previous version.

I found this article which is the same problem but just in an earlier version: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/411831/new-outlook-(v-16-49)-cannot-move-emails-to-shared

I have my main inbox showing in the window on the right. I click on and drag an email over the second inbox showing in the window on the left. It used to just then move it to that inbox. Now I am just shown a red circle with a line through it and no action is taken (i.e. the email remains in the first inbox).

I have removed and readded the inbox I am trying to move an item to but it still doesn't work.

This is essential to the way we work in our company so we must get it fixed! Any ideas or fixes gratefully received.

    Hi @Bethany Haughey ,

I found this article which is the same problem but just in an earlier version: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/411831/new-outlook-(v-16-49)-cannot-move-emails-to-shared

The above link mentioned is the Outlook for Mac client.

You have Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2023.719.200 (Production). Client Version is 20230714005.10 .

According to your description, you are currently using the new Outlook for Windows. I tested in the same version of outlook and got the same result. Currently, the new Outlook only supports moving emails between folders of one account and does not support moving emails between accounts.

The new Outlook is not yet complete, and some options may not be available or work as expected. You can switch back to the classic Outlook at any time by clicking the toggle button in the top right corner of the window.

Besides, many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future. I’ve tried submitted this feature request in forum. What I can do for you at present is to submit a suggestion for you, and you can also make a suggestion via this link.
