We are using Batch Transcription for audio file transcription with Standard tier.

Today(27/07/2023) we have triggered 5 Batch transcription for 5 audio files.

But Status of all 5 Batch transcription is maintained as "Running" State for long time even though for 5MB and 10MB audio files.

For 10MB file with 10Min audio length, it took more than 4hrs to complete the transcription, today.

Previously, it took nearly 5 mins to complete Batch transcription for the above same file. This issue occurs Today Only. So, we didn't share any input audio file.

Question 1 : Is it possible to confirm the reason behind the batch transcription which took so much time to complete?

Question 2 : Do we need to delete the transcriptions once completed? Is this the reason for transcription running for long time because more than 600 completed transcription is not yet deleted for our subscription.

    Hello @Test Admin

Thanks for reaching out to us.

For your Question 1: Is it possible to confirm the reason behind the batch transcription which took so much time to complete?

There could be several reasons why your Batch Transcription jobs are taking longer than usual to complete. One possible reason could be that there is a high demand for the service, which is causing longer wait times for job processing. Another reason could be that there are issues with the audio files themselves, such as poor audio quality or background noise, which can affect the accuracy of the transcription and cause longer processing times.

To investigate the issue further, I would recommend checking the status of your Batch Transcription jobs in the Azure portal. You can also check the logs for any error messages or warnings that may provide more information about the issue.

Question 2: Do we need to delete the transcriptions once completed? Is this the reason for transcription running for long time because more than 600 completed transcription is not yet deleted for our subscription.

You do not need to delete completed transcriptions, as they are automatically deleted after a certain period of time. However, having a large number of completed transcriptions in your subscription should not affect the processing time of new Batch Transcription jobs.

If you continue to experience issues with your Batch Transcription jobs, I recommend reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance. In this situation, please let me know if you have no support plan, I am happy to enable you a free ticket for this issue.

They can help you troubleshoot the issue 1:1 and provide guidance on how to optimize your Batch Transcription jobs for better performance.

    Regards,

    Yutong
