Both P1 and E3 license utilisation

Hello,

I need to know if a user has both P1 and E3 licenses assigned, is the P1 license still counted (paid) in the tenant? Considering the E3 license includes P1.

Hi Daniel,

Yes that is correct, Microsoft 365 E3, and Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes Azure AD Premium P1 it is charged separately As a test you can unassigned P1 license and use only E3 License for a user to test all the aspects of Entra ID such as MFA, Conditional Access policy.

Hello @Daniel Sotreanu , if a user has assigned a license that includes all features provided for another license also assigned to him, you can unassign the latter so you can assign it to another user. In you case you can remove the P1 from the user that already has E3 assigned.
