... the domain that I've added remains "Unverified" after I updated the DNS TXT record at the domain name registrar with the value provided from the Azure portal.
Last refresh I made was 3 hours ago

Thanks. Maybe I missed that one yesterday. I did it today (press the "Verify") and the domain is now verified and marked "Primary". I have added the provided MX record and I wonder why there is this "invalid" extension on the name value ?

I noticed that your recent experience was not helpful, and to better improve our processes and learn from our customers, I'm eager to know what could have been done better.
When it comes to the MX record, I believe there's the invalid extension because your domain name hasn't been verified. However, after your domain has been verified within Azure AD you can delete your verification TXT or MX file from your domain registrar.
