Used laptop - Microsoft Intune registered?

Hello,

recently, I purchased a used Dell laptop and during the Windows installation, I'm prompted to enter the login details of the previous owner. The person's work email is still being used for this purpose.

I assume that this is related to Microsoft Intune. I have already contacted the shop, and they mentioned that they are working diligently to resolve the issue. Later, the shop reached out to me and stated that they have contacted the company from which the device was obtained, and they have now removed the device from MS Intune.

I was told that it would take 1-2 hours; however, it has been 48 hours now, and after reinstalling Windows multiple times, I am still presented with the same login window.

Does anyone know how much longer it might take for my device to recognize that the device assignment to MS Intune has been lifted?

Thank you very much!

    To change device ownership:

    1. In the Microsoft Intune admin center, choose Devices > All devices.
    2. Select a device.
    3. Choose Properties.
    4. Specify Device ownership as Personal or Corporate.

When a device's ownership type is changed from Corporate to Personal, Intune deletes all app information previously collected from that device within seven days. If applicable, Intune will also delete the phone number on record.

@ACE, Thanks for posting in Q&A. It looks like the device is still registered in Autopilot of the previous company. You can ask them to cleanup Windows Autopilot registration for this device in the previous organization. And also remove the devices records in both Azure AD and Intune.

Hope the above information can help.
