Fortran project templates in VS2019

Question

Hello, I cannot find project tempates for Fortran in VS2019. I have to uninstall VS2022 because of compiler linking errors. Now the idea is to work on VS2019 but I cannot find a fortran project template. Can someone please guide me in starting a Console application as well as Projects with subroutines in Fortran. I shall be very grateful.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

After installing Visual Studio 2019 with Desktop Development with C++ workload, please go to Intel oneAPIHPC Toolkit download page, select the Online Installer, download and install it. Remember to check the box Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 in the Integrate IDE step. Wait for the installation finishes and launch VS 2019, try to search for Fortran project templates.

If you have installed the toolkit, then please try to reinstall(uninstall from Control Panel and reinstall) it.

A Fortran project type isn't available from Microsoft, you have to head out for 3rd party solution.
