ms-outlook:// URL scheme does not work for Windows

Typing ms-outlook:// in my browser on a Macbook opens the Outlook app if it is not open at all. However, when typing ms-outlook:// in the browser on a Windows, it does not open the Outlook app at all.

Please kindly understand that here we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client and know little about scheme and developer.

I tried some search and found some information which might be useful. In this similar thread, you need to add the Outlook URL protocol as a URL protocol in the Windows Registry.
