Unable to install SHIR on sql server 2019

Hello,

I am trying to install Self hosted integration runtime on my SQL server 2019. I am getting error: Service Integration Runtime Service (DIAHostService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. I am in corporate environment, and I am part of a group with administrators' access. I did add my user to Log on as a service in local policy group but still same error.

Please assit.

@Jatin Bhambhani - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

This happens due to diahostservice not having logon as service right in local security policy.

If the error is "Service 'Integration Runtime Service' (DIAHostService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services," do the following:

Step1: For this exception we need to start integratedruntime service manually by following the below steps:

Goto start->run->services.msc->click on integratedruntimeservice->start

Step2: Check the DIAHostService logon service account in the Windows service panel.

Step3: Check to see whether the logon service account has Log on as a service permission to start the Windows service:

If neither of the preceding three resolution patterns applies in your case, try to collect the following Windows event logs:

Applications and Services Logs > Integration Runtime
Windows Logs > Application

Hey Pradeep, I am unable to see integratedruntimeservice in services as I am installing integration runtime time. fromhttps://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39717. (refer original post). Thus first and second steps suggested are invalid.

The third step suggested is already done and mentioned (refer original post)

@Jatin Bhambhani - I'm supriosed to see what do you mean by - I am unable to see integratedruntimeservice in services as I am installing integration runtime time.

Have you tried the Step1: start->run->services.msc->click on integratedruntimeservice->start

Just to clarify the Microsoft Integration Runtime works with the help of DIAHostService as shown below:
