Getting package name error during migration from MobileIron to Intune

A client is migrating from MobileIron to Intune and is getting the error "The package name XXX is already used by another application" when trying to installed the apk for our application in Intune. This application is already installed in many enterprise devices through MobileIron. What should we do to migrate? Is is mandatory to rename package name of our application with all the cost that implies?

    1.Which app type did you use to deploy this app?

    2.Based on my understanding, app's package name must be globally unique in Google Play (not just unique within your enterprise or Google Play Developer account), when publishing an app in google play.

    If this app is published, we can select this app in google play and sync this app to intune.
