The presence of both files means that you have not successfully upgrade to the new version.
When upgrading Microsoft Edge, the new version is installed with a different executable name, which is new_msedge.exe. The old version of Edge is still present on the system and can be used alongside the new version. The old version’s executable name is msedge.exe.
Once the Edge is successfully upgraded to the new version, the new_msedge.exe will automatically be replaced by the msedge.exe.
Therefore, please enter "edge://settings/help" in the address bar and check the current version of Edge. And then you need to close all Edge processes and restart it. After you finish this upgrade, there is only one msedge.exe file under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application" path.
