Uploading word document without desktop app

I am unable to upload word documents that people send me? Do I need the desktop version to do this?

    After you have downloaded the document to your computer, you can upload it to your OneDrive account via https://onedrive.live.com.

    Hi,

    How did you get the shared document? From email or browser?

    If you don't have Office desktop application, you can try to open the document from Word for browser.

    Login the account you get the shared document in Office 365: https://www.office.com

    You can try to edit the document from browser, if the document is shared from browser it will upload automatically.
