For the course "Introduction to Azure OpenAI Service" I was instructed to use Azure Open AI, however, it states "Currently you need to apply for access to Azure OpenAI. Once granted access, you can use the service by creating an Azure OpenAI resource, like you would for other Azure services." when the application says I need to have a company account. Would I need to practice for OpenAI service to learn the lesson for the eventual Azure AI Fundamentals certification exam? I was not sure if I am able to get granted access to learn for the lesson.

Jacob Siahaan Greetings & Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

I was not sure if I am able to get granted access to learn for the lesson.

Your understanding is correct. Currently access is limited and same has been mentioned in the form as well.

Access is currently limited as we navigate high demand, upcoming product improvements, and Microsoft’s commitment to responsible AI. For now, we're working with customers with an existing partnership with Microsoft, lower risk use cases, and those committed to incorporating mitigations.

More specific information is included in the application form. We appreciate your patience as we work to responsibly enable broader access to Azure OpenAI.

Please see Azure OpenAI Service frequently asked questions for more details.

Would I need to practice for OpenAI service to learn the lesson for the eventual Azure AI Fundamentals certification exam?

To answer your query, yes. Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals has more details about preparing for the exam.

Do let me know if that helps or have any further queries.
