edge has detected your default search was changed by an external app or program

Question

Hello,

Whenever I restart my PC, edge defaults to using bing search with the message "edge has detected your default search was changed by an external app or program". I made the change within edge so I am confused as to what is causing this.

Any help is really appreciated! I'm not quite ready to switch to bing yet...

You can make changes by following these steps:

1. Enter Edge://settings in the Edge address bar to open Edge settings.
2. Find "Privacy, search, and services" in the left navigation bar, slide the page to the bottom, and find "Address bar and search".
3. You can select the search engine in "Search edge used in the address bar", for example, Google.
4. Of course, you can add the search engine you want to change in the "Manage search engines" below, and then return to the previous step to perform the same operation.
5. Now, when searching in the address bar, you can see that the search engine has been changed. See below.
