SINCE KB5031356, We had a report from a program launch iexplorer.exe and pass information over to a forms program. Since the update that no longer works, even though it just launched edge by default by calling iexplorer. When I code it to launch msedge.exe the information it passes is being parsed wrong. We have a name,account, number, date etc and it is hard coded to send a | in-between the data fields. Edge wants to open another tab when it gets to a space in the name field, it displays. Hmmm… can't reach this page Check if there is a typo . This is after the space in the name. how can i fix it to accept the information? I don't want it to launch another tab when it gets to a space.

    Microsoft is aware of KB5031356 related issue and working on it to resolve the issue ASAP. Please tuned for updates.

    Currently, you could try the following workarounds before the fix is officially delivered:

    • Uninstall KB5031356.
    • Remove the HideFirstRunExperience registry entry, launch Edge (2-3 times if needed) to let the first run experience run then test the IE to Edge functionality.
