Windows 11 Taskbar not showing after windows update.

Hi Team,

We are using Windows 10 and Windows 11 OS Platforms to our user machines. Last week (12.10.2023) our users update the Windows Update service pack (2023-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031354)). After update the service pack windows 11 user machine taskbar is not showing. I try to uninstall the update but again it's downloading automatically. so please give the detailed explanation for why the taskbar is not showing after update. Already we checked the same issue in Three user machines, the same issue occurs.

After some minutes, it shows up, but I confirm it happened after applying the latest Feb/2024 update KB5034765 / KB5034467

Taskbar problem still exists, after 2024-01 update. Very annoying. After some minutes of trying this and that the taskbar reappears, but this cannot be the solution. Microsoft, fix it!

The same issue, new updates were installed an hour ago

explorer.exe is running at the process list, but not Start or Taskbar.
User autostart programs are affected too.

I saw a white background of the "Windows welcome" window at first for a moment during a restart of the process explorer.exe.

Removing both KBs does not resolve the issue.

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing an issue with the taskbar not showing up after updating Windows 11. This may be due to some bugs or compatibility issues during the update process. Here are a few things you can try to solve this problem:

1.Restart your computer. Sometimes, restarting your computer can fix temporary problems.

2 Repair using Task Manager. You can press Ctrl + Alt + Del to open Task Manager, then find the Windows Explorer service in the Processes tab, right-click and select Restart. Then, in the Details tab, find the following services, right-click and select End Task: ShellExperienceHost.exe, SearchIndexer.exe, SearchHost.exe, RuntimeBroker.exe.

3. Use Command Prompt to restart your computer. You can press Ctrl + Alt + Del to open Task Manager, then tap File and select Run New Task. Enter cmd and tick Create this task with administrator privileges and click OK. Enter the following command in the command prompt and press Enter to execute: reg delete HKCUSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionIrisService /f & shutdown -r -t 0. The computer will automatically restart, and the taskbar should display normally after restarting.

4.Use PowerShell commands to reinstall your UWP app. UWP (Universal Windows Platform) apps are some of the built-in apps in Windows 11, such as the Start menu, search box, notification center, and more. If you have problems with these apps, it may affect the display of the taskbar. You can fix the problem by reinstalling these apps. You can press Win+X after you select Windows PowerShell (Administrator). Enter the following command in the PowerShell window: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$ ($_. InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml”}. If you see red text after typing, don't worry, wait for success, and restart your computer.

5.Check if the hidden taskbar is set. Sometimes the taskbar doesn't appear because you set the option to automatically hide the taskbar. You can right-click on the empty space of the desktop, select Personalize, and find the taskbar in it. Then click to enter the taskbar behavior, uncheck the auto-hide taskbar below to unhide.
