I have a macbook so I installed Parallels and Windows 11 pro (arm). But I have a problem to install MS SQL Server on it. It seems to be imposible. Can you help me with this?

Is microsoft has plans to release sql server on windows arm. I'm enticed to buy the new Microsoft Surface Pro Arm but my concern is that most of the Microsoft Dev tools wont work on it.
I would not expect an ARM version of SQL Server anytime soon. They releases the special version SQL Edge some years back, but I get the impression that they have discontinued it.
One thing to keep in mind that developer machines is not SQL Server's main arena - that is servers that are running production workloads. Developing an ARM version only for developers is unlikely to be an investment that will pay back.

The latest version of SQL Server on ARM Windows 11 22000 is SQL Server 2012 Express SP4.
Huh? Are you saying that SQL 2012 is running on ARM? There is no version of SQL Server that officially supports ARM.
Update. SQL Server 2012 SP4 Developer Edition and SQL Server 2014 SP3 Developer Edition also works well on ARM64. Both arch are x86. I installed only SQL Engine and Full Text Search.

I am using Surface Laptop 7 with Snapdragon Processor- windows 11 arm
I am tyring to install a software Metron by Tesy- a design software but my installation keeps throwing error at MS SQL startup- basically the SQL Service is not starting

There is no screenshot, but it should be clear from the thread what the remedy is: Buy a different computer. SQL Server does not run on ARM. With the possible exception from LocalDB.

Again: Workaround is to get a computer with an x64 processor. SQL Server does not support ARM.
As for the screenshot, you have highlighted an instance of SQL Server Agent for Express Edition. Express Edition does not support SQL Agent.

Maybe. I know that people have been able to run SQL Server on Docker when running a Mac with an ARM processor. Whether that works with Surface - I've no idea. You could try, but you need to understand that you are very much out on your own here.

As I said, you are very much on your own. If you don't feel confident with the process (which may not work anyway), you need to get different hardware.
Will navicat software be of any help for windows on arm?

SQL Server can run on ARM64 quite well, but it depends upon your usecase. However, it's not going to work out of the box - the first issue is the installation which will fail on ARM64. The solution to that is to use my scripts that someone here already mentioned: https://github.com/jimm98y/MSSQLEXPRESS-M1-Install
These will workaround the 2 problematic components of the installation that are causing it to fail:
With these out of the way, the SQL installation succeeds.
Next issue after the installation will be in the GUI configuration (at least some part of it). On ARM64, Microsoft compiled mmc.exe for ARM64 (instead of ARM64EC) which means mmc won't be able to load the configuration DLLs. So for instance if you want to enable TCP, you have to do it by manually editing the registry keys: https://github.com/jimm98y/MSSQLEXPRESS-M1-Install/issues/4
Finally, some advanced features such as SQL Replication might not be working - I've never needed them, so I did not investigate the reasons why.
This being said, it's definitely possible to run SQL Server on ARM64 in emulation and for general NET development tasks it works quite well.

Also I benchmarked "select null" using net framework. It results in 200-300 queries per second using shared memory protocol and a little bit slower using tcp/ip (Raspberry PI 4).

Best option seems to be this. Yes, SQL Server 2014 works, but this one installs SQL Server 2022 or 2019. It was done for the Mac M1-4 machines, but it works just the same on ARM64 CoPilotPCs. A couple features don't work but if your goal is to just do development with the basics, it does the job pretty well.
