Codes from authentificator-app not working anymore

Hello,

the codes from my authentifactor app are not valid anymore after the time change. Unfortunately the app has no error correction / synchronisation like the google authentifactor app.

I already tried deleting the cache, reboot and changing the time to manual time zone. Nothing worked.

Any ideas?

I just returned from a cruise where we had several time changes at sea including the change to summer time. Since there is no mobile signal at sea, the phone would not synchronise as it normally would, so I disabled all the automatic time synchronisation and set the time manually. None of the apps requiring 2FA authentication codes would validate the codes. I re-enabled the automatic time synchronisation and everything worked. This may not be your problem, but it is another option to look at.

Can you ask a global administrator on your tenant to reset your MFA?

Steps to rest MFA:

Sign in to the Azure portal with the tenant Global Administrator account.
Navigate to Azure Active Directory > Users > All users > Select your account. > select Authentication methods > Require Re-register MFA.
Once this is done, the next time you sign in, you will be requested to set up a new MFA authentication method.
