Missing "hibernate" from Shutdown settings (of power options)

For me, I do not have the option (checkbox) for hibernate.

I have also seen win10 How to enable hibernation on dell PC when "powercfg.exe /hibernate on" does not work - Microsoft Q&A. I do not have hibernate in the plan settings as described there. I have a desktop computer and hibernate did work for it originally. What else can I try?

I cannot find something describing how to get it when it is not there.

Evidently the hibernation file was the problem. The command:

POWERCFG /HIBERNATE /TYPE FULL

fixed the problem.

This eventually worked for me. I used to have a Hibernate option until I added more RAM to my computer. The reason it stopped working was because I didn't have enough free hard drive space for Windows to create the Hibernate file (i.e. more RAM means a bigger hibernate file). Once I cleared up enough hard drive space on my C: drive, I was able to:

Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager
Select File > Run new task
Type: cmd in the "Open" field
Check "Create this task with administrative privileges"
Press Enter

Once the cmd window is open
Type: powercfg /hibernate on
Then type: powercfg /h /type full (as per the above post).
